Graduate Programs

Financial Aid

Earning a graduate degree at the Mount is a worthwhile investment that will benefit you for many years to come. Graduate study at the Mount is made affordable through the use of federal, state and private grants, scholarships and loans.

According to the College Board’s Trends in Student Pricing, the typical earner with a graduate degree earns over twice as much as a high school graduate. Over a lifetime, the gap in earnings between those with a high school diploma and those with a BA or higher exceeds $1 million.

The Federal Stafford Loan Program, Federal TEACH Grant, NYS Tuition Assistance Program, NYS Senator Patricia K. McGee Nursing Faculty Scholarship, NYS Math & Science Teaching Incentive Scholarship and Veterans Tuition Awards are just a few examples of funding opportunities for graduate study.

Mount Alumni: The Mount is offering a 25% reduction on graduate tuition for students who earned a bachelor's degree from the Mount (with the exception of 5-year bachelor's/master's degree students on scholarship.) Come back to the Mount for a graduate degree, save money, and improve your range of possibilities in a competitive job market.

Federal financial aid

Graduate students should file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid at least four weeks prior to the term you plan to start classes. This will allow enough time for the Financial Aid Office to receive the information and evaluate your eligibility for aid.

Fill out the FAFSA form online. The deadline is March 1.
The Mount Saint Mary College Title IV School Code is 002778

New York State financial aid

We also recommend that all New York State residents apply for aid at the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation website. The Mount Saint Mary College school code for graduate TAP is 5725.

The School of Nursing also applies for federal HRSA Nurse-Traineeships on an annual basis. These monies, if awarded, are given to eligible full-time graduate nursing students (9 credits a semester) or students within 12 months of graduation.
