Mount Saint Mary College’s business division presented shortly before Thanksgiving a heaping helping of “Hospitality and Food Production in the Hudson Valley.”

Offering their insight at the forum were Michael Bonura, principal of Bonura Hospitality Group; Joseph A. D’Amato, chief executive officer and director of Empire Resorts Inc.; Mike Finnegan, CEO of Continental Organics; Jon Levin, director of human resources at Mohonk Mountain House; and Ernie and Mary Molina, founders of Lola Granola Bar.

Around 13 percent of Mount freshmen are majoring in business, including accounting, finance, management, administration, and marketing. The programs are accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education.

Education involves more than just class time, noted Andrew Weiss, chair of the Mount’s business division. It also includes experiential learning and forums such as this.
