Mount golf tournament raises record amount

Mount Saint Mary College’s 33rd Annual Golf Invitational Tournament set a new record, drawing gross receipts of more than $100,000.

James Smith, owner of Advance Testing Company, Inc. in Campbell Hall, N.Y. and a former Mount trustee, was the tournament honoree. Smith’s firm provides both field inspection and laboratory analysis of construction materials for commercial, private, and public organizations.

David MacFarland, president and CEO of Riverside Bank, was also saluted for 33 years of service as a member of the Mount’s golf committee. MacFarland has been a staple in the Hudson Valley banking community for nearly five decades.

Approximately 160 golfers participated in the event June 6 at the Powelton Club in Newburgh, N.Y.
