The Imaginary Invalid, a three-act comedy by the French
playwright Molière, will be presented by student members of the
Mount Saint Mary College Theatre, April 7, 8 and 9 at 7:30 pm.
First staged in 1673, it was Moliere’s last work. In an ironic
twist of fate, he collapsed during his fourth performance as Argan
and died soon after.
Cast members include: Tom Kellett of New Hampton, NY as Argan;
Erica Echevarria of Newburgh, NY as Beline; Sarah Fulton of
Cornwall, NY as Angelique; Erin-Therese Vecchi of Levittown, NY as
Berdine; Brian Klose of Wantagh, NY as Cleante; Liliana Peralta
Zapata of Bronx, NY as Toinette; Antony Krueger of Naugatuck, CT as
Dr. Purgon; Joyce Hausermann of Saugerties, NY as Dr. Diafoirus;
Glen Russo of Carmel, NY as Thomas Diafoirus; Garrett Weeden of
Schenectady, NY as Mr. de Bonnefoi; Salma Yasin of LaGrangeville,
NY as Nurse Fleurant and Megan Panagia of Midland Park, NJ as stage
manager.
The play will be held in Aquinas Hall Theatre, 330 Powell
Avenue. Public admission is $5; free with a Mount Saint Mary
College ID.
