What to Bring to College

This page will help you find out what items the college supplies, and what you'll need to bring from home. 

Each room in the residence halls is furnished for each student with a bed/mattress, a four-or five-drawer dresser (closet space is also available), desk, and chair. There is a kitchen and a TV in the lounge area of each residence hall. Cable outlets are provided in each bedroom. Microwave ovens and refrigerators are provided in Sakac and Guzman suites/rooms and in the College Court kitchens. 

Here's what you need to put on your list: 

Bed and Laundry

  • Alarm clock (with battery backup)
  • Twin size sheets (36”x80”)
  • Pillows/Pillowcase
  • Blankets
  • Bedspread
  • Towels
  • Bathroom necessities (Toilet paper and shower curtain provided)
  • Bathroom floor mat
  • Laundry bag /basket
  • Detergent/Fabric softener
  • Ironing Board/ Iron with auto shutoff
  • Bleach/Measuring cup
  • Clothes hangers
  • Drying rack

  • Small vacuum, broom, dustpan
  • Waste basket
  • Full-length mirror
  • UL Listed Surge protector Garbage bags
  • Cleaning supplies

  • Fan(s)

Optional Supplies

  • Desktop/Laptop computer
  • Television
  • VCR/DVD player

Things Not to Bring: Prohibited Items

  • Toaster ovens
  • Hot plates
  • Air conditioners
  • Candles or incense
  • Pets (except fish, 5 gal or less)
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Personal microwave ovens
  • Halogen lamps/plastic lamp covers
  • No refrigerator larger than 3.6 cu ft.
  • Freezers
  • Cinder block(s)
  • Anything with an exposed heating element.
  • George Forman grills or similar type grills
  • Extensions cords
