Improvocative is the new improv group
that James Phillips, assistant professor of theatre, helped
organize this spring semester as part of the theatre program.
The group is made up of Joyce Hausermann, Tom Kellett, Liliana
Peralta Zapata, Billy Biersack, Tom Fallon, Alexander Florez,
Camille Gandolfini, Arianna Guevara, Sarah Fulton, Erin-Therese
Vecchi, Brandon Lillard, and Genesis Valverde, along with Megan
Panagia as stage manager. True improvisation is getting on stage
and performing without any preparation or planning.
The objective is to create an interesting story on stage that
somehow relates back to a topic that was called out at the
beginning of the performance. Improv is an exciting and
nerve-wracking experience that, when done well, is very fulfilling.
