Public Relations
See yourself as a Public Relations major

We live in a communication era. As more and more companies go global there is an increasing need for good communication between organizations and employees and the general public. Public Relations professionals provide a valuable public service. They help keep the lines of communication open.

The Mount's Communication Arts program offers students two degree programs - Media Studies and Public Relations.

If you're a good communicator (both in the written and spoken word), the Mount's program in Public Relations program is designed to prepare students for graduate study or entry-level positions in the field of public relations.

Along the way to your degree, the Mount gives you lots of practical experience, through internships and Cooperative Education opportunities, with radio and television facilities, newspapers and public relations agencies at many companies including Disney World, Madison Square Garden, The Rowland Company, Susan Blond, Inc. and The New Victory Theater.

Combine this with distinguished faculty, small classes and a multimedia production studio and it is easy to see that the Mount has an excellent program that will challenge students and help them fulfill their career potential.

The liberal arts tradition

While it is very important to concentrate on one area of study, we believe that exposure to courses in other disciplines will develop you as a whole person. No matter what course of study you pursue at the Mount, you will take a number of required courses in the liberal arts (arts and letters, natural science, math, social science, and philosophy or religion.) Combined with the elective courses you choose to take, you will become a critical thinker and a life-long learner.
