Our Business Administration program is ideal for students interested in gaining a broad understanding of business through challenging coursework and real-world experiences outside the classroom. This emphasis on learning the most current technologies and trends in a diverse set of courses is enhanced with a broad liberal arts base that will provide you with a well-rounded education. Your professors will bring their experience in the field into the classroom for a first-hand perspective on the world of business today.
Students with a degree in Business Administration/Accounting enjoy careers in a diverse range of fields, including public accounting, managerial accounting, government service, and entrepreneurial endeavors.
Because of our prime location only minutes from New York City and Albany, Mount
grads have numerous opportunities to find work in their field. In fact, over
90 percent of our graduates find work after graduation. Graduates have gone
on to work for the “Big 5” accounting firms, IBM, Toyota Motor Credit
Corp, Bank of New York, the New York Stock Exchange, the Commodities Exchange,
UPS, BMW, Jaguar, and several government agencies. Additionally, many Mount
grads have continued their education in respected MBA programs across the country
at such institutions as: New York University, Temple University, Georgetown
University, and the University of Michigan.
The liberal arts tradition
While it is very important to concentrate on one area of study, we believe that exposure to courses in other disciplines will develop you as a whole person. No matter what course of study you pursue at the Mount, you will take a number of required courses in the liberal arts (arts and letters, natural science, math, social science, and philosophy and religion) to ensure you of a well-rounded education. Combined with the elective courses you choose to take, you will become a critical thinker and a life-long learner.
