Student Life

Students

Your college years are more than sitting in class and studying. They’re late night coffee runs. Movie marathons with your floor mates. A pickup Frisbee game. Attending a Blue Knights basketball game. Going to New Orleans to make a difference in a community. These are what college memories are all about.

At the Mount, there’s always something going on. See the many ways you can fill your social calendar at the Mount:

  • Join a club
  • Start an organization
  • Attend services offered through Campus Ministry
  • Participate in a sport
  • Bond with your floormates over a midnight snowball fight
  • Attend a coffeehouse performance
  • Check out a concert on campus (Jason Mraz headlined last year’s Spring Weekend!)
  • Volunteer with Habitat for Humanity
  • Participate in Mount Olympics, where each class takes on each other in fun activities for bragging rights
  • Take a position on Student Government and plan activities like these—and more—for your fellow classmates!

Get Involved

Student Activities, Student Government and student organizations are important parts of the student experience at Mount Saint Mary College.  These provide students with independent roles in campus-wide policies, a chance to pursue their interests with other like-minded students, and to develop new interests and pursuits.

The Dean of Students assumes responsibility for the overall management of the student development program and its staff. Often, the Dean serves as an adviser to students on an individual and group basis. The Dean works with student leaders and other college officials to develop appropriate student life policies and procedures.

The Dean of Students, Harry Steinway, can be reached at 845.569.3544.
