The Mount Saint Mary College April Poetry Series continues on
Tuesday, April 22, 2014, with an appearance and reading by poet
Robert Kelly. Please join us; light refreshments will be
Robert Kelly was born in Brooklyn, studied at CCNY and Columbia,
and has lived for many years in the Hudson Valley with his wife,
the translator Charlotte Mandell. He teaches in the Written Arts
Program at Bard College, and has taught at Yale, Tufts, Dickinson,
CalTech, Cal Arts, Wagner, Buffalo and Naropa. He was closely
associated with the Deep Image group in New York, later with poets
of the Black Mountain lineage, and was an editor of the Chelsea
Review, Trobar, and Matter, and advisory editor of Caterpillar and
Conjunctions. He is the author of many books of poetry (most
recently Lapis, Fire Exit, Uncertainties, The Hexagon), a few
novels (The Book from the Sky most recently) and five collections
of short fiction (The Logic of the World the latest), and the
newly-published collection of plays, Oedipus After Colonus.
