Seventh Annual Gala Reception

Biographies of Honorees

Gala Honoree Joseph LeporeJoseph Lepore

President of LCS Companies of New York, Inc.

Joseph Lepore truly personifies the "American Dream.”

In 1974, at the age of 15, Mr. Lepore and his family immigrated to the United States from Italy, settling in Flushing, N.Y. He now owns LCS Companies, which employs more than 230 people.

Mr. Lepore prides himself in being able share the American Dream with his employees, most of whom are immigrants. Mr. Lepore doesn't stop by hiring people of diverse cultures; he has gone far beyond the call of an employer and has assisted several of his employees in purchasing homes in the City of Poughkeepsie. He has also purchased multi-family properties, offering employees a reduced rental fee where the employees maintain the properties. The Poughkeepsie Journal recently named Mr. Lepore, “Business Person of the Year.”

Though Mr. Lepore takes every assignment very seriously, none compare to his work in the aftermath of September 11, 2001. Back then, LCS Facility Maintenance was invited by a real estate company in Queens to clean their two buildings adjacent to the Trade Towers disaster. Mr. Lepore and his team spent four months on site, forever changing his life. This is just one example of the reputation Mr. Lepore has established throughout the Hudson Valley. Fortunately for the City of Poughkeepsie, Mr. Lepore adopted the city in 1992, and has since become an integral part of the community. He recently became a councilman, overseeing Ward 5 in the Town of Poughkeepsie.

Mr. Lepore is also a member of the Anderson Center for Autism Board of Directors. He and his company have sponsored functions for Northern Dutchess Hospital, the Mid-Hudson Children's Museum, the American Heart Association, and the Dutchess County Chamber of Commerce Foundation, among others.
