Please join us after spring break when Dean Goldberg of the
Division of Arts and Letters presents our next iROC seminar,
Semiotics and the Cinema.
As a film student turned filmmaker turned teacher, Dean has been
interested, influenced, and slightly obsessed with semiotics, the
study of signs and symbols, and how we communicate in life and in
Professor Goldberg writes about the film industry for
Student Filmmaker magazine, and contributes articles and
poetry to the Chronogram and other magazines. He is
co-director of the Technology and Digital Media major at the Mount
and teaches film production, media studies, and film studies in the
Division of Arts and Letters.
His presentation will take place on Thursday, March 20 at 4 pm
in the MSMC Library, Dominican Center Room 218. Refreshments will
be served. All are welcome.
