Prospective Students: Why wait to get your admissions
Attend Mount Saint Mary College’s Instant Decision Event
and you won’t have to!
Submit your official transcripts and SAT/ACT scores, letter of
recommendation, and short essay when you arrive, and receive your
admissions decision and scholarship award before you leave. While
you’re learning about the Mount, we’ll be reviewing your admissions
For this event, your application fee is waived.
Instant Decision: Who should attend?
Students with a solid B and a 900 SAT Score (critical reading
and math) or a 19 ACT score (composite) may attend the event.
Students below these criteria should apply through the Mount’s
traditional application process.
What materials should students provide?
Bring a high school transcript and test scores. Test scores
should be official scores from the College Board or ACT. Scores can
also be provided by your Guidance Office. You should also supply a
letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor, and
a 250-word essay/personal statement. For this event only, a graded
writing assignment is also acceptable.
Should you choose to write the short essay, please respond to
the following statement: Evaluate a life-changing event, ethical
dilemma, or significant experience you've had, and how it impacted
Special programs: criteria and deadlines
Nursing: Nursing candidates must have an 85 GPA
and 900 SAT score (or 19 ACT); or an 80 GPA and 1000 SAT score (or
21 ACT); plus successful completion of biology and chemistry. (For
courses in progress, admissions decisions will not be made until
the first semester grade can be reviewed).
Physician Assistant's Five-Year program: (pending
Accreditation-Provisional) – Candidates should have a 90
GPA and 1150 SAT score (or 25 ACT) and have successfully completed
biology and chemistry. Because this is a competitive program,
applicants will be reviewed as a pool after March 1. Admissions
notifications will be sent on March 15, 2014.
Biology or Chemistry with Adolescence Education
five-year program: Candidates should have an 85 GPA, a
1000 SAT score, or be in the top third of their class (must meet
two of the three criteria) and should have successfully completed
biology and chemistry. (For courses in progress, admissions

The Long Island Marriott Hotel is located at
101 James Doolittle Boulevard in Uniondale, NY, next to Nassau
Coming from Queens? Travel by train to the
Hempstead or Westbury Station. Taxis will be available at both
stations to take you to the hotel. From the Hempstead train
station, you can also walk one block to the Hempstead Bus Terminal
and take either the N70, N71, or N72 bus to Hempstead Turnpike,
opposite the hotel. There is no bus service available from Westbury
