Mount Saint Mary College student leaders Nicole Havrilla (left) of East Northport, NY, and Wantagh, NY residents Jenn Garton and Brian Klose, wear purple in support of P.S. I Love YOU Day, founded by Brooke DiPalma of West Islip High School, following her father’s suicide in 2010. P.S. I Love YOU Day (February 10) was related to the Mount’s Culture of Life: Love Yourself, Be Yourself, Be the Example campaign, geared to broadening students’ awareness of the importance of respect, values and moral development, relationships and decision making.

Havrilla, student government vice president of activities, is majoring in mathematics/education, student government president Klose in public relations, and student body public relations rep Garton in psychology. Participating in Mount Saint Mary College student government helps students develop leadership skills beneficial to future careers.
