The newly renovated Mount Saint Mary College bookstore and
mailroom was blessed recently by Fr. Kevin E. Mackin, OFM, college
president, at the grand opening ceremony attended by dozens of
students, faculty, and staff.
Located on the ground floor of Aquinas Hall, the campus store
and mailroom received significant improvements over the summer to
become a more beautiful, welcoming, and efficient space.
“With this grand opening, we celebrate a 21st century campus
store,” said Fr. Mackin, noting that students can purchase scrubs,
lab coats, Mount apparel, textbooks, and other supplies, as well as
sending and receiving mail.
The Mount worked with Sodexo, the college’s food services
provider, to utilize one of their partners, BBA Solutions, to
operate the store and mailroom.
BBA Solutions runs 125 bookstores in the United States. Their
purchasing power allows students to recognize savings and access to
more used textbooks, a robust rental program, higher buy-back, and
a better variety of goods.
Sodexo/BBA Solutions provided more than $300,000, and the
college provided around $85,000, for renovations and improved
technology in the store and mailroom.
