Join us at Mount Saint Mary College’s Instant Decision Event on campus

Instant Decision: Who should attend?

Students with a solid B and a 900 SAT Score (critical reading and math) or a 19 ACT score (composite) may attend the event. Students below these criteria should apply through the Mount’s traditional application process.

What materials should students provide?

Bring a high school transcript and test scores. Test scores should be official scores from the College Board or ACT. Scores can also be provided by your Guidance Office. You should also supply a letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor, and a 250-word essay/personal statement. For this event only, a graded writing assignment is also acceptable.

Should you choose to write the short essay, please respond to the following statement: Evaluate a life-changing event, ethical dilemma, or significant experience you've had, and how it impacted you.

Special programs: criteria and deadlines

Nursing: Nursing candidates must have an 85 GPA and 900 SAT score (or 19 ACT);  or an 80 GPA and 1000 SAT score (or 21 ACT); plus successful completion of biology and chemistry. (For courses in progress, admissions decisions will not be made until the first semester grade can be reviewed).

Physician Assistant's Five-Year program: (pending Accreditation-Provisional) – Candidates should have a 90 GPA and 1150 SAT score (or 25 ACT) and have successfully completed biology and chemistry.
