The Counseling Services office offers time-limited counseling sessions with qualified mental health professionals to matriculated students of Mount Saint Mary College enrolled during the current semester.

Counseling is a collaborative process that involves the development of a unique, confidential, and supportive relationship. Counselors act as facilitators in helping students better understand themselves, their feelings and behaviors, and their relationships with others. Counseling assists in the development of insight and coping skills to deal with challenges such as anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. Additionally, counseling provides an invaluable forum to discuss concerns, problems, and decisions with an objective professional.

Off-Campus Referral Services

Students that are determined to require long-term, intensive treatment and/or who present with issues that require services beyond the scope of our office will be referred to appropriate treatment services off- campus. Referrals are also provided for students who opt not to utilize our services.
