Michael TJ McCormack

Michael TJ McCormack is principal architect and founding partner of Liscum McCormack VanVoorhis LLP, a design-oriented architectural firm located in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. The firm was established in 1986 and specializes in educational, commercial, multi-family, institutional, private, and government facilities.
In 1978, Michael graduated from Dutchess Community College with an associate’s degree in Applied Science. He went on to graduate from New York Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1982.
Michael believes that education is a vital tool that forms the foundation of success. He was instrumental in designing many local educational institutes and enhancing campus structure for students, faculty, and staff alike. Among these are residential and study facilities for Mount Saint Mary College, as well as projects for Marist College, Vassar College, Astor Learning Center, Our Lady of Lourdes High School, Dutchess Day School, and Maplebrook School.
Recreation in the Hudson Valley is important to Michael, and he is dedicated to keeping the area’s facilities contemporary and engaging. He often demonstrates his knowhow of designing, implementing, and evaluating hospitality facilities in our area, including projects at Segalla Country Club, Dutchess Golf and Country Club, and Dutchess Stadium.
Service in an important part of Michael’s life. He has donated his time to his town, local hospitals, county boards, colleges, and local historical sites, including the Dutchess Community College Architectural Advisory Board; the Town of Clinton Planning Board; the Mid-Hudson Regional of Westchester Medical Center Board; Bannerman’s Island Trust; the Dutchess County Economic Development Advisory Council; the Dutchess Community College Foundation Board; and the Dutchess County Planning Federation. He serves or has served as Vice Chairman of the Westchester Medical Center Foundation Board and chairman of the Dutchess County Workforce Investment Board and the Dutchess County Republican Committee.
Michael, his fiancé Susan, and their children Thomas, Jonathan, Nicholas and Alexandra, are from Dutchess County, which they view as a local treasure. Michael is extremely proud of his fiancé and their children and feels blessed to have them in his life. Susan utilizes her intelligence and vast job experience as the Dutchess County Commissioner of Jurors. She is an excellent example of what a public servant should be. Their children all have or are currently seeking degrees of higher education and are driven towards their own unique successes.
Working with Mount Saint Mary College over the past two decades on various projects has been an incredible and gratifying experience for Michael and his firm. Creating a successful environment for the Mount’s students is critical to their ability to flourish and it brings a smile to Michael and his firm’s partners every time they think of the work they’ve done to enrich the Mount Saint Mary College campus.

Nancy Rossi Brownell

Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley
Rick and Nancy Rossi Brownell are lifelong Hudson Valley residents. They have two children, Tyler, 24, who lives in New York City and works as an analyst for Morgan Stanley, and Justin, 19, who is a student at Boston University. Rick and Nancy both share the good fortune of upbringings that emphasized education, hard work, compassion, and community service. They consider passing these values on to their children their greatest accomplishment.
Rick, owner and President of Freedom Ford Inc. in Beacon, is a third-generation automotive dealer. He currently serves as President of the Beacon Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce, Beacon Elks Club, Beacon Sloop Club, New Hamburg Yacht Club and as a member of the National Auto Dealers Association.also volunteers with Topfield Equestrian Center and represented Dutchess County in the 10th Annual Fireball Run, an Amazon Prime reality show that will air this fall and features Hudson Valley locations as part of a race to recover America’s missing children.
Rick previously served on Mount Saint Mary College’s Golf and Tennis Tournament Committee and the Grants Review Committee for the Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley, as a Little League coach with Fishkill baseball, a basketball coach for St. Mary’s Fishkill CYO, a member of Fishkill Rotary, a mentor in the Beacon School District, and as a ski instructor. He is also an alumnus of Leadership Dutchess. Rick graduated from the State University of New York at Fredonia.
Nancy is Vice President of Putnam, for the Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley. Prior to accepting her current position, she spent eight years as a member of the Foundations’ Board of Trustees, including two years as Board Chair, during which time she led the President/CEO search committee.
Nancy serves on the boards of the Foundation for Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Hudson Valley Hospice Foundation, the Estate Planning Council of Putnam County, and as Vice President for the Garden Club of Orange and Dutchess. Nancy is a member of the Cold Spring Chamber of Commerce, Greater Mahopac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce, and the Professional Women of Putnam. She previously served as Vice President of the Pride Parents’ Association at Trinity-Pawling School, Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Powelton Club, Fundraising Chair and Programs Chair for Fishkill Elementary School’s PTA, a reading mentor for elementary school students, a director and guide for a French foreign exchange company, and as a volunteer with Riverkeeper, The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, Manitoga, March of Dimes, the Tribeca Film Festival, and what is now Arts Mid-Hudson.
Previously, Nancy worked in the radiology equipment field as a regional sales manager for Rossi Walling X-Ray Corporation and Alpha Medical. She also spent time as a broadcast journalist and as an advertising sales executive. Nancy is a graduate of Ithaca College.
