The Dominican Charism & The Arts

Sister Jo-Ann Iannotti will speak on the "Dominican Charism and the Arts" at a luncheon for faculty in Aquinas 163 at 12:30 pm, followed by an evening lecture for the entire Mount community at 7 pm in the James Finn Cotter Library in the Villa.

Sister Jo-Ann Iannotti, OP is a Dominican Sister of Hope who is presently the Art and Spirituality Coordinator at Wisdom House Retreat and Conference Center in Litchfield, CT.

Her ministries have included teaching at the elementary and secondary levels in New York and New Jersey. Since moving to Connecticut, she has been Associate Director of Vocations for the Archdiocese of Hartford, as well as a reporter and photographer for The Catholic Transcript newspaper. She also scripted programs for the Office of Radio and Television for the Archdiocese of Hartford and was Director of Religious Education at St. Ann Parish in Avon, CT.

She is a poet and photographer. Her poetry has appeared in national and international magazines. She has had one woman shows of her photography in New York and Connecticut.

A native of Paterson, New Jersey, Sr. Jo-Ann holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, New York and a master’s degree in theology from Fordham University, Bronx, New York. She is a guest preacher in local churches in Northwest Connecticut. She lectures frequently on the 14th Century English mystic, Julian of Norwich, as well as the inter-relationship between art and spirituality. She is the author of the book, Remember, Return, Rejoice: Journeying from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday.
