26th Annual Conference on Literacy: Dare to be a Wild Reader and Writer

March 30, 2019, Mount Saint Mary College Campus
Presented by the Collaborative for Equity in Literacy Learning (CELL) at Mount Saint Mary College

Keynote Speaker - Jacqueline Woodson

The Library of Congress, the Children’s Book Council, and Every Child a Reader appointed Woodson as their 2018-2019 National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature. Formerly the Young People’s Poet Laureate, Woodson has published dozens of books for children and young adults and has received numerous book awards, such as the Newbery Honor, the Coretta Scott King Book Award, and the National Book Award. As the National Ambassador, Woodson challenges us to question labeling students as struggling readers and advocates for children’s power as readers to choose their own books. Her platform is “Reading = Hope x Change (What’s your equation?).” Learn more by visiting www.jacquelinewoodson.com.
