Rhineland Mystics

March 20, 2017 7:00 PM
Kaplan Family Library DC 218

On Monday, March 20, Sr. Valerie DaSilva, OP will present "Rhineland Mystics" at 7 pm.

The Rhineland Mystics refers to a group of Dominican spiritual writers, preachers, and teachers who lived between the 11th and 15th century in the German Rhineland. The mystics were courageous men and women with creative spiritual insights. Sister Valerie’s talk will explore the area where they lived and preached, giving us an insight into their deep spirituality.

Sister Valerie DaSilva, OP is a Dominican Sister of Amityville. She taught for twenty years in Puerto Rico. Upon return to the United States, she taught at St. Francis Prep School in Queens, NY and for the past 16 years has been an adjunct professor in Religious Studies at Mount Saint Mary College.

This event is co-sponsored by CDI and the Division of Philosophy and Religious Studies.

This is a FYE College Connection event.

Faculty are also invited to a special luncheon with Sr. DaSilva earlier in the day. Please email for more information.
