The School of Business at Mount Saint Mary College prepares students for a wide variety of careers as business professionals.
The very nature of business and its fluid, global environment has fundamentally changed in the last ten years. As a Business major, you want a program that incorporates technology, international vision, and modern organizational science to prepare for a brave new world.
Our programs combine a strong liberal arts core curriculum with accounting, management, finance, economics, and marketing courses. You'll learn both the science and the art of business, and incorporate critical thinking into your skill set through liberal arts study.
Mission of the School of Business
The School of Business reflects the mission of the college by preparing students for a wide variety of careers as business professionals in diverse organizational settings or for continued academic study. The business program incorporates technology, global vision, business ethics, and the study of contemporary business practices and combines accounting, management, finance, economics, international business, and marketing courses with a strong liberal arts core curriculum. Students learn both the science and the art of business management by acquiring quantitative literacy, critical thinking, and oral and written communication skills.

Internships
Students are encouraged to participate in internships, where they'll gain firsthand experience in a business, nonprofit, or governmental agency environment.
With special permission, undergraduate students majoring in Business may take up to six graduate credits in the College's MBA program during their senior year.
Traditional undergraduate degree programs
The school offers several undergraduate degree programs that use technology to support the development of fundamental business skills while integrating a strong liberal arts education.
Accelerated undergraduate degree programs
The following programs are offered for adult students in an accelerated format.
5-year BS / MBA programs
Students who qualify for our dual-degree programs will earn two degrees in five years, instead of the normal six years required at other institutions.
When you complete the required courses for an accounting major, you will also fulfill the basic requirements for admission to the licensing examination to be a Certified Public Accountant in New York.
Graduate programs
The Mount offers two business programs at the graduate level.
Advising track
Students interested in going to law school are encouraged to pursue our pre-law advising track.
