Communication, Art, and Digital Media

Communication, Art, and Digital Media Program

Prepare for the 21st century new media environment and make a career out of doing what you love. Just bring your passion and dedication and we'll give you the digital toolkit that will enable you to compete in the fields of journalism, advertising and public relations, and web and digital video production.

While we offer three distinct majors and three minors, we encourage students to take classes in all the disciplines. So many of the skills you will learn are transferable, like PhotoShop, video editing, and Indesign and Audition.

During your time at the college, you'll be able to join Mount Media, our in-house creative agency, write for the Mount Messenger, or present at our student Art Gallery. Your internship will connect you to the real world, whether it's working on location with a professional film crew, at a local art gallery, or in the studio of one of the big broadcast neworks.

Mount students have gone on to work for major networks (FOX, CNN, ABC) as well as film production Companies (Umbra Studios, Media 21) and newspapers (Poughkeepsie Journal, NY Daily News).

Organizations, both non-profit and for profit, are eager to hire those talented students who understand the digital and social media environment.

So what are you waiting for? Let your creativity shine.
