Graduate Education

Alternate Teacher B

The alternative certification program, Transition B, is for teacher candidates who have an appropriate baccalaureate or master’s degree but do not have teacher education certification.

Satisfactory completion of the Introductory Component requirements will allow the candidate to seek a partnership with a participating school district while completing the remainder of the master’s degree.

This 42-credit program was designed to provide high-quality teachers in critical shortage areas. A candidate is not commended to NYSED for Transition B Certification unless s/he has signed a full-time teaching contract with a participating school district.
