The Accounting BS/MBA program is designed to train you in the fundamentals of accounting and business that fulfill the academic requirements for CPA licensing in New York.

The Accounting program provides specialized instruction in accounting theory, cost management, budgeting, auditing, taxation, accounting systems and accounting as a management tool, leading to a bachelor's degree in Accounting.

Students who complete the full five-year course sequence will have an integrated program of graduate studies, incorporating liberal arts strengths with contemporary business management studies and advanced accounting research, leading to the Master of Business Administration.

Accounting BS/MBA at the Mount

This program offers each student the opportunity to acquire the most up-to-date accounting knowledge. The faculty consists of seasoned professionals with a combination of knowledge, experience, and a passion for teaching. The combination of classroom work, research, professional mentoring and the availability of internships offers students the best of opportunities as they prepare to begin their careers.

Program Requirements

Students majoring in Accounting must complete at least 63 undergraduate credits in the major, with an additional 34 credits for the MBA. Entry into the Accounting BS/MBA leading to the CPA (5-year program) requires a Grade Point Average of 2.85, both overall and in the major.

Career Options

A student completing the Accounting BS/MBA  is prepared for a career in corporate and non-profit accounting and management, for government service, and to take the New York State licensing exam to become a Certified Public Accountant.
