Fake News: Sorting Truth from Fiction

September 20, 2017 12:00 PM
Hudson Hall Room 105

In today’s world of near-ubiquitous connectivity, in which everyday people have almost instantaneous access to unlimited stores of information and the ability to interact with anyone, anywhere, anytime, what does it mean to be an effective citizen? What role can MSMC play in developing students as effective digital citizens? What skills and knowledge do you need to participate fully in a world transformed by technology?

Denise Garofalo, MLS, associate librarian of systems and catalog services, will lead the discussion. Please bring a laptop or tablet.

This event is open to all students, and is available for FYE credit.

Sponsored by the Office of Online Learning and presented as part of the Digital Citizenship Project.
