A lecture at Mount Saint Mary College’s Desmond Campus for Adult Enrichment served as the backdrop for a heartwarming reunion between teacher and student.

David Martin, an instructor in the Mount’s Community Education Program, had a very special visitor to his lecture “Understanding Your Belief System and How It Affects Your Decision Making” on Monday, May 6: his former high school teacher, 97-year-old Betty Martacello.

Martacello taught English in Marlboro High School for years, and David Martin took her speech class when he was a student there.

With the student now the teacher and the teacher now the student, both greatly enjoyed the experience.
