With commencement in sight, dozens of graduating Mount Saint Mary College seniors had one last opportunity to connect with area business leaders at the final Real World Connections event of the semester.

The networking event, held on April 12, was coordinated by the college’s Center for Career and Experiential Education and featured professionals in a variety of fields, including successful alumni. The program, which is held several times during the year with focuses on different industries, offers networking and opportunities for personal connection that larger job fairs often can’t provide.

Five Mount alumni returned to their alma mater to aid the next generation of college graduates. They were:

  • Torrino Harvey ’10, from Combined Insurance
  • Kara Miller ’06, from Rehab Support Services, Inc.
  • Katherine Morey ’15, from Pepsico
  • Jeremias Ramos ’15, from Citrin Cooperman
  • Ryan Reeves ’09, from Northwestern Mutual

“Attending Real World Connections helped me prepare for life after graduation because everyone I talked to gave me useful advice,” said Nathan Herring, a senior Media Studies major with a concentration in Journalism from Pleasant Valley, N.Y. “They all recommended networking with as many people as possible because you never know what connections they might have.”
