NEWBURGH, N.Y. -
Mount Saint Mary College Nursing students added another tool to their life-saving repertoire on Wednesday, April 17 at a training session for administering naloxone, an anti-opioid overdose medicine.
The students packed the campus’s Aquinas Hall Theatre for the presentation and were given free samples of Narcan brand naloxone, which comes in the form of a nasal spray. The spray temporarily reverses the effects of opioids, buying caregivers more time to seek medical attention in the event of an overdose.
