The end of the semester brought an act of kindness from the students of Mount Saint Mary College, who filled a truck bed with donations for the Newburgh Ministry charitable organization.

Through a program spearheaded by Fr. Gregoire Fluet, college chaplain and director of Campus Ministry; Roger May, assistant director of Campus Ministry; and the college’s Residence Life Office, Mount students were encouraged to donate non-perishable food items, gently-used clothing, and hygiene products as they packed up for the semester.

“It’s important that we reach out to the community,” Fr. Fluet said. “Service is part of life at Mount Saint Mary College.”

In addition to Fr. Fluet and May, helping to load the items for transport recently were Colin Seifrit, area coordinator of the College Courts; Deidre Lydon of Bellerose, N.Y., a Mount Nursing major; Amy Beard, Mount project coordinator for Prevention, Advocacy, and Intervention Programs; and Kelly Palmateer, assistant director of Student Activities.
