Mount community gets creative with ‘A.R.T. Show’

NEWBURGH, N.Y. -

Danangelowe “A.J.” Spencer of Hempstead, N.Y. (center) spearheaded the recent Art, Reality, Truth (A.R.T) Show on the Mount Saint Mary College campus.

 

The Mount Saint Mary College community showed off its creative side at the recent Art, Reality, Truth (A.R.T) Show, which highlighted works in a variety of traditional and digital formats.

The show included a gallery, a film screening, and live performances. The artwork was submitted by Mount students, staff, and faculty.

“We aim to rejuvenate the appreciation and expression of the arts here at the Mount,” explained media student Danangelowe “A.J.” Spencer of Hempstead, N.Y., who spearheaded the event. “Personally, my aim is to inspire students to create, share, and inspire.”

In addition to Spencer, the show was presented by Mount students Madison Herley of Miller Place, N.Y.; Camille Muschio of Pawling, N.Y.; and Venezia Verde of Medford, N.Y. Spencer also thanked adjunct professors Gary Jacketti and Dakin Roy, Dean of Student Affairs Kelly Yough, and the Mount’s office of Marketing and Communications.

The event was sponsored by the student clubs Essence of Poetry, Musical Exchange, the Alpha Chi honor society, the Student Government Association, and Student Council, as well as Johnny’s Riverside Deli and Parkhurst Dining.
