Nearly 20 Mount Saint Mary College students and several faculty and staff recently visited New York Public Radio in New York City.

The Mount group was given a tour of the New York Public Radio building’s information technology infrastructure and learned about the station’s broadcast environment.

“WNYC broadcasts to millions of people worldwide, and we had the opportunity to get a behind the scenes look at this process,” explained Sean Jennings, an IT major from Hopewell Junction, N.Y. and president of college’s Byte Knights club. “Being able to see all the different parts of their operation in person was an appreciable experience that couldn’t have happened within the bounds of a classroom.”
