Starting out as a still life painter, Trondsen later turned to landscapes in the tradition of the Hudson Valley School, but with a more contemporary painting style. These luminous landscapes border on the ethereal mood of the tonalists. He is one of five artists contracted to paint landscapes for the Dutchess County Land Conservancy.

Trondsen’s extensive body of work includes on-screen special projects for films including “The Natural,” “Fatal Attraction,” “Wall Street,” and “Kiss of Death.” His projects for Woody Allen’s “Zelig” are in the permanent collection of the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens.

As an illustrator, Trondsen has done work for brands such as Life Savers, Post Cereals, Lever Brothers, Nabisco, Bell Atlantic, Citicorp, ABC Network, Revlon, Clairol, North Shore University Hospital, and more.

The Mount’s Desmond campus offers hundreds of non-credit classes each year for the adult learner, including Zumba Gold, Hatha Yoga, T’ai Chi, oil and acrylics, drawing, guitar workshops, art history, foreign languages, technology, and more. Classes are offered during the day, in the evening, and on Saturdays.
