NEWBURGH, N.Y. -
Study time doubled as snack time for Mount Saint Mary College students recently when the school’s mascot, Mack the Knight, handed out treats to the scholars in the Kaplan Family Library and Learning Center.
Countless students have cheered for Mack over the years, so the noble knight returned the favor by cheering on some of his fans. The tasty surprise was quite the morale booster for the diligent scholars, they said, as they headed into finals week.
For more than 600 students, May marks the finale of their college journey. The Mount’s 56th Annual Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 18 will feature an inspiring keynote speech by Lt. Gen. Darryl A. Williams, The United States Military Academy at West Point’s Superintendent.
Lt. Gen. Williams was selected as the keynote speaker by consensus of the Mount’s graduating seniors.
“What a privilege it is for Mount Saint Mary College to welcome Lt. Gen. Williams to our campus and have him speak at our commencement ceremony,” said Dr. Jason N. Adsit, president of the college. “His amazing drive, spirit, and determination throughout his illustrious Military career will serve as an inspiration to the Class of 2019 as they prepare for continued service and success.”
