As part of our commitment to your academic success, the college requires that incoming students demonstrate preparedness for college-level coursework.
All incoming nursing students are required to complete the TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) which measures essential skills in the academic areas of reading, mathematics, science, and English. The TEAS is commonly used by nursing programs nationally. This test will be available to be taken at the college on Saturday, April 21 or Saturday, May 12. Registration for this exam is required. Registration will open in mid-March. Learn more or register online.
Math Assessment and Placement
Beginning Fall 2018, Mount Saint Mary College will use a set of benchmarks as college readiness indicators. Our goal at Mount Saint Mary College is to properly place students into mathematics courses to ensure they are successful in their first math course. Upon admission to MSMC, students' math scores will be used to place them in the appropriate mathematics course based on a variety of criteria. Therefore, upon admission, students are required to submit either ACT or SAT scores for Math and English placement. Learn more...
