Classes at the Desmond Campus are suspended indefinitely.

When Alice Curtis Desmond left her Balmville estate to Mount Saint Mary College in 1990, it was an incredible gift. Desmond programming has brought the joy of lifelong learning to adults in our community for 30 years, and we are proud of the long line of classes that we have been able to offer at the campus. The success of these non-credit programs came not just from  the work of dedicated staff, but also from the incredible efforts of our Desmond students and  volunteer instructors. Thank you to everyone who has helped to make these programs more than just a learning experience, but a fixture of our community.
In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic and the rapidly changing landscape of college operations, it has become clear that the Mount needs to carry this legacy forward in a new, but familiar, way.
The Mount is dedicated to continuing the enrichment classes that have been historically associated  with the Desmond Campus. Once the COVID-19 pandemic is behind us, Mount Saint Mary College will relaunch this programming on its main campus. The Desmond name will live on in a friendly, safe environment that can provide even more resources and educational opportunities for adult learners. We will share more information about this in the future.
We look forward to resuming Desmond programming and we hope to see you there!
