Ellen Bourhis Nolan
Director of the Career Center
Ellen is the director of the Career Center. In her present capacity, she coordinates all efforts of the Career Center to prepare MSMC students for their careers including career exploration, experiential education, resumes, cover letters, job search and professional skills development. She has been at MSMC for 20 years. Ellen is also an adjunct instructor, currently teaching Career Development and has also taught courses in psychology and aerobics. Her degrees include a BA in psychology from Rutgers University and an MA in counseling from Michigan State University as well as an MBA from MSMC. Originally a "Jersey Girl" Ellen has resided in the Hudson Valley for 35 years and loves being near mountains and the Hudson River. She has been a runner since her college days and has run seven marathons and numerous half marathons. Fitness has been an enjoyable activity since high school and has included bicycling, tennis, racquetball, weightlifting, kickboxing and boot camp. In addition, she is an avid gardener and can identify nearly every common and sometimes a not-so-common flower but still has a hard time distinguishing poison ivy! Traveling is top on her list of activities and has plans to climb Mount Fuji and Mount Kilimanjaro some day. Ellen resides with her husband, two cats and four koi- well, they live in the pond....she has three grown children, including one who graduated from the Mount in 2015.
