Circulation & Student Staff Coordinator
Kaplan Family Library and Learning Center at Mount Saint Mary College seeks an energetic, service-oriented individual to serve as Circulation & Student Staff Coordinator. This individual has primary responsibility for circulation desk activities and ensures efficient, user-focused service. Hires all library work-study students and part-time student employees and places students within the library based on staff needs and student abilities. Responsible for scheduling, supervising, and training all student workers, as well as handling student payroll. Also handles all book repairs. Assists library users with quick questions and general library services.
Qualifications: Associates Degree required; BA/BS preferred. Required Skills: Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; proven ability to work with college-age students; supervisory and management skills; strong customer service philosophy; congenial and courteous demeanor; professional appearance; commitment to providing quality library service. Library work experience required, preferably at the college level. Ability to complete book repairs with meticulous attention to detail. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Ability to troubleshoot minor software and hardware problems. Working knowledge of an integrated library system (preferably Sierra) preferred.
