As part of the First Year Experience Program all freshman are
given a Personal Librarian. What can a Personal Librarian (PL) do
for you? He or she is here to be your point person for all things
library related. Do you have a research paper or project coming up?
Your PL can help you find the sources you need to successfully
complete that assignment. Do you need help with writing citations?
Your PL can help you with that too. Contact your PL with any
questions and they will do their best to help you!
Additionally, we are here to teach you about Information
Literacy. Information Literacy is the ability to understand when
information is needed, find that information, critically evaluate
the information, and use the information effectively and ethically.
In the FYE we will begin to teach you these skills through video
tutorials, quizzes, and in-class lectures.
Here are the tutorials you are to complete as part of the First
Year Experience Program. Follow the instructions on your
Personal Librarian's webpage. Please contact your Personal
Librarian if you have any questions or problems.
