Diversity and Art in Children’s Literature

MSMC Library Week, February 6-10, 2017Collier

Learn about the importance of diversity in both imagery and subject matter in children's literature from local author and illustrator, Bryan Collier. The 9-time Coretta Scott King Award winner or honor recipient and 4-time Caldecott Honor recipient will speak about the challenges he faced getting his first book published and his experiences along the way to publishing his thirtieth. Book sale and signing follows. Cosponsored by the Division of Education and the Division of Arts & Letters.

Diversity and Art in Children's Literature will take place February 8th at 4:00 p.m. in Kaplan Library Room 218. This event has been approved for College Life FYE credit, but students at all levels are welcome.
