Please be with us Thursday, February 2nd when Elizabeth Cappello, Newburgh School District, presents Virtual Reality in the Classroom.

Engaging students in the classroom with the latest technology is an opportunity that allows educators to teach in new and innovative ways. Using Google Glass in a virtual reality environment, students are experiencing learning in an incredibly vivid and connected way. In the Fall semester, Ms. Cappello began using virtual reality as a way to increase student engagement with a subject some are learning for the first time--Art History. This presentation will discuss the successful implementation of Google Class, how Google Glass can be incorporated in other educational settings, and allow attendees to try Google Glass firsthand.

Elizabeth Cappello is the Instructional Technology Facilitaror for Newburgh Enlarged Central School District as well as adjunct faculty in MSMC's Division of Arts and Letters. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Fine Arts in New Media and Web Design at Academy of Art University.

Virtual Reality in the Classroom will take place February 2nd at 12:45 p.m. in the DC Café of the Dominican Center. This event has been approved for College Connection FYE credit, but students at all levels are welcome. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. We hope to see you there!
