IT'S REAL: COLLEGE STUDENTS AND MENTAL HEALTH
MSMC Counseling Services
Produced by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, “It’s Real” features the stories of six college students from across the country.
By presenting real stories and experiences, this short film conveys that depression and other mental health conditions are real illnesses that can be managed through specific treatments and interventions. It encourages students to be mindful of the state of their mental health, to acknowledge and recognize when they are struggling, and to take steps to seek help.
Following the film, MSMC Counseling Services will give a brief presentation focusing on suicide prevention and will describe counseling resources and services for students in crisis.
