THE OLYMPICS FROM A GREEK PERSPECTIVE

Travel dates: May 25 - June 10
Earn 2 credits in Sports/Business
Students should sign up for SPM 4700 - The Olympics in Greece which will include readings and discussion forums during the last four weeks of the Spring semester. The course will be completed in Greece.

  • Students reside in a centrally located hotel within steps of markets, restaurants, shopping, and public transportation.
  • Trip includes a 3-day excursion to Olympia - site of the Ancient Olympic Games beginning in 800BC.
  • Visit the Acropolis, the Parthenon, Panathenaic Stadium, 2004 Olympic Village and competition sites, and much more.
  • Explore the rich history of the Olympic sites, both ancient (Olympia) and modern (Athens).
  • Free time to explore Athens or the Greek Islands (Santorini, Mykonos, etc.).

Love and Friendship in Renaissance Florence

Travel dates: June 9-29, 2024
Earn 3 credits in Philosophy or Religious Studies
Students should sign up for PHL 4054 - Philosophies of Love. Course begins as a hybrid course in the second spring session on March 18. Classes will be held on Tuesdays from 12:45-2:10pm. Course is completed in Florence.

  • Students reside in private apartments in the city of Florence. 
  • Trip includes excursions to the cities of Siena, San Gimignano, Bologna, and Acetaia.
  • Study the nature of love and friendship as it was understood and experienced in the Italian Renaissance.

  • Explore the rich Dominican intellectual and spiritual tradition that shaped the cultural ethos of Tuscany.

  • Visit Bologna and learn about the rich culinary tradition of the Emilia Romagna.

  • Visit the city of Siena, home of the famous Palio de Siena.

  • Free time to explore Tuscany and Italy.
