The Desmond Center for Community Engagement and Wellness is dedicated to bridging the gap between Mount Saint Mary College and the Newburgh community. Its purpose is simple yet significant: to provide health, wellness, educational, and professional services for underserved individuals and families in the local area. The center offers educational workshops, wellness programming, health screenings, immunizations, professional development events, and more for the local community.
The Desmond Center, which operates out of Guzman Hall, provides varied opportunities for programs monthly, with a monthly calendar of programs launching at the beginning of every month. Programs vary from drop-in to registration only; for more information on the monthly calendar, click here.
Compassionate care at the center is modeled by Mount faculty and students. The college's varied divisions and schools, from Education to Nursing and Business, play major roles in bringing health and wellness services to the community.
At the Mount, our mission is to provide a service-oriented education to all of our students, no matter their program of study. The Desmond Center for Community Engagement and Wellness is an impactful step toward that goal and strengthening our relationship with the greater Newburgh community.
