Mentor students in the community
Want to give back to our local Hudson Valley community while gaining valuable experience? Mentor children at the Highland Falls Intermediate School after school program CONNECT. Students need help acquiring beneficial skill sets to learn, create and lead in STEM and the humanities. Teacher candidates will tutor and support students in grades 3-6 from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday & Thursday or Monday & Wednesday. The next session runs from September 11 to December 8.
Teacher candidates in need of fieldwork hours can earn up to 50 fieldwork hours toward their student teaching requirement each term by volunteering just two days a week. If no additional fieldwork hours are needed, teacher candidates will earn $30/hour.
To apply, applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.75.
