  • 100% online: The last thing you want to do after working in a school all day is go sit in another classroom. With our 100% online program, learn from the comfort of your home while staying in your pajama bottoms (we won’t judge).
  • Excellence in Education: The Mount has long been renowned for our teacher education program. In fact, we often get calls from local school districts looking for our graduates, as they know how well they’ve been trained as educators. You’ll be proud to be part of this stellar program.
  • Passion for gifted students: The professors in this program are passionate about encouraging, challenging, and nurturing the potential of gifted students and meeting their unique needs. You’ll be motivated by their enthusiasm for the subject they teach!

What to expect in the Advanced Certificate in Gifted Education program

12 credits in Gifted Education

Learn about Advanced Certificate in Gifted Education academic requirements and courses here.

One of the best aspects of this program is that it is only 12 credits, which means you can complete the degree in one academic year. You’ll take two accelerated courses in the fall and two in the spring through our online cohort model. Additionally, you’ll participate in 50 hours of fieldwork with the gifted education population to practice your skills. At the conclusion of the program, you will take the Content Specialty Test in Gifted Education in order to be certified by New York State.
