“The Career Center is definitely what I will miss most about the Mount. They helped me exponentially in growing my resume and connecting me with outside sources so I had the opportunity to grow my network. Without help from them, the position that I am in now might just be a thought in my mind, not a reality.”

Where our students intern

Internships are an amazing way to get real life, hands-on experience in your field. They can last a whole semester, over the summer, or or even a few weeks through remote micro-internships. Some internships are paid, while others offer college credit in your major. We even have an Internship Fund to help qualifying students finance internship travel or other expenses. And don’t worry, you don’t have to find it on your own; that’s what your career counselor is here for!

Here’s some of the many places our students have interned:

  • ABC
  • American Cancer Society
  • Anderson Center for Autism
  • Bethel Woods
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • IBM
  • KPMG
  • Make-A-Wish Foundation
  • Mayo Clinic
  • MTV
  • New York Mets
  • New York City Police Department
  • New York State Police
  • Northwell Health
  • Northwestern Mutual
  • Polo Ralph Lauren
  • The Today Show
  • US House of Representatives
  • Warner Music Group
  • West Point Athletics

"If you are thinking about interning, DO IT! It was the greatest opportunity of my life. You will find so much more confidence about graduating and beginning your future career. Would I intern again? 100x yes!" -Aideen Ginty ’18

Where our alumni work

After Commencement, our graduates are ready to set the world on fire through careers that allow them to be leaders and make a difference.

Although it’s their education, skills, and leadership that stand out to employers, we like to think we have a little bit to do with their success too. After all, we’ve been training them for this since day one through career readiness training, networking events, and one-on-one consultations.

And we’re there for them even after graduation. Alumni searching for jobs can utilize our Knight Network database, which connects hiring employers and job candidates, and we often hold networking events for alumni to connect with one another post-graduation.

Here’s just some of the organizations where our incredible alumni are making a difference:

  • ABC Walt Disney Television
  • Dana Farber Cancer Institute
  • Disney Streaming Services
  • Ernst & Young
  • ImagineMIC
  • Mayo Clinic
  • Memorial Sloan Kettering
  • Nature’s Bounty Co.
  • NBC Universal Media
  • New York Department of Education
  • New York City Department of Probation
  • New York Stock Exchange
  • John Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory
  • Vogue Magazine

We’re also so proud of our many graduates who go on to graduate school in law, science, education, and more at schools like Cornell University, Howard University School of Law, Fordham University, Georgetown University, and more.

And they’re recognized for their greatness too. We boast two NY State Teachers of the Year, DAISY Award recipients, multiple 40 under 40 honorees, and plenty of fellowships.

The Career Center went above and beyond to help me. My career counselor helped me create and polish my resume, and she arranged interviews at a newspaper and a publishing company. These internships really helped focus my resume and give me experience in my field, which went a long way. The Mount is the main reason I found what I wanted in a career.
