Food Drive for the Local Community
The Desmond Center for Community Engagement and Wellness is hosting a food drive to collect non-perishable donations for the local community. Donations will be accepted until September 18, 2023, with the food giveaway being held on September 30, 2023.

SUNY Open Educational Resources (OER) Summit 2023
Cost of attendance: Free
This summit aims to bring together practitioners from SUNY and beyond to explore innovative approaches, successful case studies, and emerging trends and promote community and collaboration around OER.
We invite you to participate in this exciting event and share your expertise by submitting a proposal for a presentation, panel discussion, or lightning presentation. This is a unique opportunity for you to showcase your work, insights, and experiences related to OER and make a valuable contribution to the summit.
We welcome proposals on a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:
- OER Implementation and Adoption
- OER Assessment and Evaluation
- OER Institutional Support and Sustainability
- OER and Equity
- Open Education and Open Pedagogy

We Remember: Songs of Survivors
Aquinas Hall Theatre
The Mount will be hosting a showing of PBS’s We Remember: Songs of Survivors. The film is a documentary celebrating the lives of Holocaust survivors and it incorporates concert footage from right here at the Mount.
Following the film, there will also be a panel discussion featuring the film's producers, the president of SageArts, and Holocaust survivor Tibor Spitz.
After the event, attendees can visit an exhibition in the MST Atrium, outside the theatre, hosted by Jewish Family Services.

Broadcast of Dead Man Walking
The NYC Metropolitan Opera is staging an opera this Fall based upon Sr. Helen Prejean's best-selling book and movie, Dead Man Walking. For those outside NYC, the Met will broadcast the opera Live in HD at hundreds of movie theaters across the country on October 21st.

This could be a rich opportunity for any courses, student organizations, and campus ministry programs that are thinking about the death penalty.
