Dr. Jason N. At the Commencement ceremony, the college will recognize hundreds of bachelor’s and master’s degree candidates.

“I cannot overstate how thrilled I am to be coming together in person with graduates, parents, faculty, and honorees for the Mount Saint Mary College Commencement,” said Tumminia. “The Class of 2023 have distinguished themselves with their grit and grace, in their pursuit of their studies through the pandemic years.”

She added, “My entire higher education is rooted here at the Mount and I attribute much of my success to my professors. I’m looking forward to celebrating our graduates’ enormous achievements.”

As Commissioner of the Premier Hockey Federation, Tumminia brought more than 20 years of professional sports leadership to the role. Known for her branding and creativity, Tumminia is a results-driven marketer who spearheaded the league’s name change and refreshed logo to Premier Hockey Federation, re-defining the brand based on the skill and talent of the athletes as opposed to their gender.

In her tenure with the league, she led the development and execution of Season 6 competition in Lake Placid, N.Y. and the Isobel Cup Playoffs in Brighton, Mass. She also successfully negotiated the first-ever national broadcast partnership for women’s professional ice hockey in the United States. Under her leadership, the league’s stature has seen substantial growth across all facets of the business including securing the single highest sponsorship deal in league history, increasing sponsorship revenue, doubling the salary cap, record-setting performances on Twitch, merchandise sales, and a dominant social presence.

A transformative sports executive, Tumminia previously served as the Senior Vice President of the Goldklang Group. In this role, she was responsible for marketing and broadscale sponsorship, operations, and communications. She developed the group’s award-winning marketing philosophy, “Be Your Own Fan.” She is responsible for the creation of the Professional Baseball Scouts Hall of Fame, which has been hailed as a game changer in the perception of scouts throughout the local organization. Prior to the Goldklang Group, Tumminia built a strong career in public relations and technology working alongside high-profile clients.

Tumminia was a recipient of the Roland Hemond, MASA, and Marcom awards for excellence in her field, and in 2011 was named Executive of the Year by NYU’s sports management program. She was also named 2013 Sports Business Executive of the Year from Minnesota State University. In 2014, she was named Top 25 Most Influential Women in Sports by Bleacher Report and received the Game Changer award by Sports Business Journal as a Female Owner in Baseball.

After her time at the Mount, Tumminia completed MLB Scout School in Arizona in 2011. She is currently a minority owner of the Pittsfield Suns of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League.
