The Center for Cybersecurity at Mount Saint Mary College invites students, faculty, IT professionals, and members of the public to a free presentation featuring veteran IBM cybersecurity leader Tony Cusato on Thursday, November 12, from 4 to 5 p.m.
The presentation, titled “Cybersecurity in the Age of AI: How to Thrive as the Next Generation of Cyber Defenders,” will take place on campus in Aquinas Hall, Room 55 (AQU 55). Mount Saint Mary College is located at 330 Powell Avenue, Newburgh, N.Y.
This event is free and open to the public.
As artificial intelligence continues to reshape both digital threats and defensive capabilities, emerging professionals and organizations face new challenges and unprecedented opportunities. Cusato’s talk will focus on the practical knowledge, technical agility, and strategic mindsets required to succeed on the frontlines of cybersecurity in an increasingly AI-driven world.
A recurring guest speaker and trusted mentor at the Mount, Cusato brings more than 42 years of experience at IBM, where he currently serves as Manager of Global Cyber Security Client Trust & Assurance. Throughout his four-decade tenure, his work has ranged from delivering security solutions within IBM’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) execution arm to serving as the technical backbone for high-profile global operations, including the 1998 Winter and 2000 Summer Olympic Games.
Beyond his responsibilities at IBM, Cusato serves as Senior Technology & Security Advisor for PS27 Ventures – an organization he helped launch to empower startup founders in building robust, forward-looking security frameworks. He has also served as Acting CIO at the Open Invention Network in support of open-source software and is an active member of the Mount's Center for Cybersecurity External Advisory Board.
The Center for Cybersecurity at the Mount provides students and the surrounding Hudson Valley community with cutting-edge academic training, industry partnerships, and educational programming to develop the next generation of digital defenders.
